Help getting work
- Entry in the SfEP Directory of Editorial Services. For ordinary and advanced members only.
- Associates Available: advertising by associates, which is transmitted to most members of the SfEP via SfEPAnnounce.
- Suggested minimum rates of pay for freelances, to aid in negotiations.

- AGM and annual two-day conference, which includes a varied programme of workshops and lectures.

Increasing professionalism
- Opportunity to progress from being an associate to having ordinary membership. Among other things, ordinary members are entitled to take an entry in the SfEP Directory, and they can progress to advanced membership.

Benefits of becoming a corporate associate
The SfEP works to improve communication between editors and proofreaders and their clients. It welcomes as corporate associates all publishing houses and other businesses and organisations that use the services of editors and proofreaders.
Corporate associates:
- automatically receive up to 10 copies of each issue of the SfEP's magazine Editing Matters
- pay reduced fees for SfEP training
- can have inserts in SfEP mailings (subject to a charge to cover costs incurred)
- have access to the annual conference
- have access to email discussion groups, an announcement list and local groups
- can advertise free of charge on SfEPAnnounce an unlimited number of freelance assignments or in-house positions (using the job advert template (61 KB pdf).).
