Training
Professional development director
One of the major aims of the SfEP is to help editorial freelances and in-house staff to improve and develop their skills. SfEP courses cater for the whole range of experience, from beginners to established editors who need to update and extend their existing skills.
The Society also runs a mentoring scheme for those who have already completed some training in proofreading and/or copy-editing.
Attending training courses and taking part in mentoring can count towards ordinary and advanced member status (see Structure). There is also a specially designed course that prepares candidates for the SfEP Accreditation test in proofreading.
Locations
Most of the courses are run in London. However, about twice a year, groups of courses are run in Bristol, Edinburgh and York. By arrangement, courses can be run at suitable venues anywhere.
Bookings for all training courses in any location are handled by ,
